Bookstores in the Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Hirakawa areas are currently taking reservations for the photo book "Photos Talk about 100 Years of Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Hirakawa."

This book looks back on 100 years with 600 photos set in Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Hirakawa. Published by Iki Publishing (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture). Takashi Sasaki, president of Iki Publishing, said, "In 'Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Hirakawa no Showa' published in 2014, there was a bit of crampedness as it was only for the Showa era. It will be a 100-year-old photograph."

The photos were solicited from July to October last year, and were submitted by more than 100 people. “There are about 3,000 photos in total. Some of them have the same angle and theme, so I narrowed it down to 600 photos.

The photographs include Mt. Iwaki and Dotemachi before and after the war, events such as Neputa and lion dances, and the opening of Kuroishi Station, Hiraga Station, and Hirosaki Station. President Sasaki says, "We've already entered an era of nostalgia, and we've included photos from the Heisei era."

According to President Sasaki, "Showa in Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Hirakawa" had the highest number of reservations among the series in Aomori Prefecture. President Sasaki said, ``The contents are designed to allow people to look back on local events over the past 100 years and reminisce about fun times and memories.''
