"Aomori Machinaka Onsen" (Furukawa, Aomori City, TEL 017-762-7577 ) is currently offering a free bathing ticket with an election vote certificate.

"Aomori Machinaka Onsen" is attached to a business hotel and is a natural free-flowing hot spring near Aomori Station. This is the facility's first initiative to offer free bathing tickets to increase voter turnout. Day-trip bathers can get a free bathing ticket that can be used from the next time onwards by presenting their voting certificate.

Aomori city will hold a double election on June 4th, the Aomori mayoral election and the Aomori prefectural gubernatorial election. Hiroyuki Takahashi, the manager, said, ``I felt the low voter turnout in the unified local elections held in April, and wondered if there was anything we could do. I took the plunge and chose a 100% discount free ticket."
