Cafe "Blue Eight" (Dotemachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-35-9666 ) resumed operations on April 30 under the new owner.

This café has been around for about 40 years and is known to the citizens of Hirosaki as “a place of memories from school days.” At the end of last year, Takami Tsunoda, the former owner of the shop, posted a handwritten message, "I'll give you Blue Eight," and when he started looking for a new owner, he received inquiries and applications from all over the country.

"Blue Eight", where Mr. Tsunoda served as the shopkeeper, was open until April 20th. Ms. Miwako Hasekura, who runs a bento shop in Hirosaki, became the new owner on April 30th. “I never thought that I would become the owner of the cafe I used to go to when I was a student,” says Hasekura. "I took over the menu from Tsunoda-san. I will continue Blue Eight," he said enthusiastically.

The store area is 25 tsubo. The number of seats is 34. The interior has remained unchanged, and the toilets have been refurbished. As a sales tool, I launched an official website and started Instagram. Hasekura says, "Until now, we haven't advertised or sent out information, and most of our customers have been attracted by word of mouth and repeat customers. Going forward, we would like to send out information and make use of social media. We will also be open until late at night."

The menu includes omelet rice (830 yen), Neapolitan (920 yen), cutlet sandwich (800 yen), tuna pilaf, pork curry (780 yen), pancake (870 yen), small parfait (680 yen), and ordinary Sweets such as parfait (730 yen) are available. The ghost parfait for parties (13,000 yen, up to 14 people) and the illusion parfait (8,000 yen, up to 10 people) will continue to be offered (reservation required).

Initially, it was scheduled to reopen on the 24th, but it was postponed until the 30th because preparations could not keep up. "Chinjao Spa" and "Chinjao Chicken Omurice" were added to the new menu from the day of opening. Mr. Hasekura shows his willingness, saying, "I want to increase the number of new menus that are unique to Blue Eight."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 21:00. Closed on Mondays.
