    The "Hideaki Anno Exhibition" began on April 22nd at the Aomori Museum of Art (Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture).

    This exhibition covers everything from independent films Anno made in high school and university, past works he participated in as an animator, to his latest works as a director and producer, and "approaching the secrets of creative activities." It will be held for the first time in the Tohoku/Hokkaido area.

    Mr. Anno is from Yamaguchi Prefecture, participated in "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" as an animator, and directed "Neon Genesis Evangelion", including the movie series, which has become nationally popular. In recent years, he has directed special effects movies such as "Shin Godzilla" and "Shin Kamen Rider".

    At the venue, various production materials such as valuable original drawings and miniatures of "anime" and "special effects" works, handwritten notes and illustrations from the amateur era to the present, scripts, settings, image sketches, storyboards, layouts, and original drawings. exhibit. Materials such as "Ultraman," "Kamen Rider," "Space Battleship Yamato," and "Mobile Suit Gundam," which are said to have had a great influence on Mr. Anno, will also be on display.

    In conjunction with the "Hideaki Anno Exhibition", the museum will hold an exhibition of the collection of Toru Narita, who was born in Aomori and is known for designing "Ultraman". As a special exhibit, we will be exhibiting a large miniature of the "Battleship Mighty Jack" that Mr. Anno admires, as well as an installation work by two young artists.

    In addition to selling about 500 items, more than 60 items limited to Aomori are also available.
