Hokuyo Glass (Tomita, Aomori City, TEL 017-782-5183 ) started selling Tsugaru Vidro's new work "Nebuta Akari" on April 7th.

"Tsugaru Vidro" is a hand-made glass made in the image of Aomori's nature and four seasons using the technique of "free-blowing" cultivated in manufacturing floats for fishing. The new “Nebuta Akari” comes in two colors: “Iro”, which expresses the eight colors of the Nebuta festival, and “Sumi,” which expresses the Nebuta ink.

Momoko Matsuo, the leader of the planning group, said, ``The idea was to create a new series that would replace the popular NEBUTA series. I aimed for," he said.

According to Mr. Matsuo, it is easy to adjust the thinness of the glass in mold blowing, so he was particular about the good taste. “I think the two types of rocks glass and cup we prepared are easier to use as gifts,” says Matsuo.

"Aya" uses the same color as "NEBUTA", which expresses the colors of the Nebuta Festival. “Sumi” was inspired by Nebuta’s inking, and through repeated trial and error with a glass craftsman, I tried to express it in glass. “When I interviewed Nebuta craftsmen, I learned that ink painting is an important process that determines the quality of Nebuta, and it has remained in my heart for a long time,” says Matsuo.

“I was able to create a glass that looks more beautiful when filled with liquid. Nebuta also becomes more beautiful when light shines in, and life is breathed into it by adding ink.I was able to express that.” show

The price is 5,500 yen for a rocks glass and 3,850 yen for a cup.
