The cafe "FLEUR cafe" (1 Furukawa, Aomori City, TEL 017-718-2733 ) opened on March 10 along Niconico Street in front of Aomori Station.

This shop offers sweets and drinks using seasonal fruits and edible flowers called "edible flowers". Based on the concept of "a store that feels the seasons," the menu and interior decorations change regularly. The owner, Mizuho Sakamoto, said, "We plan to use sweet potatoes and matcha green tea in addition to fruits. We want customers to enjoy the deliciousness of seasonal ingredients and various flavors."

Mr. Sakamoto has loved making sweets since he was a child, and naturally set his sights on a sweets-related path. After graduating from high school, he was planning to move to Tokyo to attend a culinary school, but he found a job at a restaurant in Aomori City. “I wanted to open a store as soon as possible, so I decided to learn on-site while working,” he said. After gaining experience at restaurants and cafes, he decided to become independent.

The store area is 9.2 tsubo, and the number of seats is 9. The store name means "flower" in French. “I like flowers, so there were many things I wanted to do with flowers, such as menus and miscellaneous goods,” says Sakamoto. The decisive factor was when I was looking for a teaspoon to use at the store. "I found a spoon with a flower motif, and I thought, 'The name of the store must be a flower,' and decided on 'Fleur Cafe,'" he recalls.

The sweets menu changes depending on the season, and currently there are 2 types of sweets you can choose: "Selectable Afternoon Tea" (1,800 yen), "Strawberry Millefeuille Parfait" (1,280 yen), "Strawberry Tart" (660 yen), and "Cake Plate." ” (600 yen). The drink menu includes "Hot Coffee" (510 yen), "Earl Grey", "Darjeeling" (500 yen above), "Cream Soda" (650 yen), etc. Some menus can also be taken out.

A new menu is planned to be launched in mid-May, and Mr. Sakamoto says, "Since the concept of the menu is almost complete, we will make a prototype as soon as we have the ingredients." Regarding the store, he says with a smile, "I want to keep the store in this place for a long time. I want to create a place where visitors can always feel at ease."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on Wednesdays.
