    The 44th regular performance "Opera Heaven and Hell" will be held on October 11th at Hirosaki Civic Center (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City). Sponsored by Hirosaki Opera.

    Founded in 1970, this group celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. The members are about 25 people in various occupations such as teachers, self-employed, housewives and students. So far, he has performed once a year at Hirosaki Civic Center.

    The theme of "Heaven and Hell" will be from ancient Greek mythology. Composed by J. Offenbach in 1858. Translated by Rikiya Hirao, a director living in Tokyo. Mr. Hirao, who works to spread operas all over the country, was involved with the group from the 14th performance. This year marks the 30th year.

    Mr. Hirao explained, "This is a classic masterpiece, but the stage is replaced by Hirosaki, and all the people who appear are citizens of Hirosaki. During the performance, locals such as Tsugaru Shamisen and hand dance are added. The content is easy to accept. ”

    Every year, right after the end of the performance, plans are set for the next year's stage. Mr. Hirao, who is approaching the 30th anniversary, is enthusiastic about "I intend to be a member of the Hirosaki citizen. I want to continue to be involved in this opera until I die."

    Doors open at 14:30 and start at 15:00. Tickets are S seats = 4,000 yen, general tickets = 3,000 yen, student tickets = 2,000 yen, free for high school students and younger (free seats other than S seats, numbered tickets for high school students and younger). Advance tickets are sold at Kinokuniya Bookstore, Hirosaki University Co-op, Hiroro, Machinaka Information Center, etc.
