It has been two years since Tsujimura Liquor Store (Aoyagi, Aomori City, TEL 017-763-0288 ) moved from Hiranai to Aomori on March 6th.

Established in 1906 (Meiji 39), this store handles more than 100 brands of sake from all over Japan. Dai Tsujimura, the 4th-generation owner of the shop, explains the reason for the move, saying, ``We've been working in Hiranai for generations, but in order to continue, we decided to move to Aomori and actively sell it, rather than passively waiting.'' .

After graduating from high school, Tsujimura started helping out at the store. “When I was in junior high school, I lost my father and the store in a fire, so I decided to become the fourth owner,” says Tsujimura. After turning 20, he accidentally drank sake and learned how delicious it was, which prompted him to focus on selling sake. Mr. Tsujimura says, "I don't remember the brand, but my father was also focused on sake."

Mr. Tsujimura, who started studying sake, began to visit sake breweries and deepened his knowledge. At first, the sake they sold was only local sake, but they began to purchase sake from all over the country. “I try to put sake that I think is delicious and things that I want customers to drink in my shop,” says Tsujimura.

The sake Mashiro, which began selling in 2019, was created by Mr. Tsujimura connecting rice farmers in Hokkaido and a sake brewery in Akita, and has been sold every year. Mr. Tsujimura says with a smile, "The number of repeaters has increased, and now there are people who come to the store for Mashiro. I'm happy that the passion of the producers has been turned into sake."

Two years have passed since the move, and some customers say, ``I can't believe I can buy this kind of sake in Aomori,'' and regular customers come to buy sake that Mr. Tsujimura recommends. Mr. Tsujimura says, "There are times when people come to the store after seeing SNS and interact with sake breweries in other prefectures. I am happy and grateful. Not only do I create fun stores, but I also plan sake events that make Aomori more enjoyable. I want to do it,” he said enthusiastically.

Business hours are from 10:00 to 19:00 (until 18:00 on Sundays). Closed on Mondays.
