    Hirosaki City and Hakodate City (Hokkaido) will start the "Hirohako Spring Tourism Campaign" on April 20, using "Sakura Miku" as an official character.

    Sakura Miku is a spring-inspired character derived from virtual singer Hatsune Miku. In Hirosaki, since 2019 (Heisei 31), Sakura Miku has been appointed as the official support character for the "Hirosaki Sakura Festival" and has been developing collaboration projects. This is the fifth time. “Hirohako” started a tourism campaign featuring Snow Miku from December 1st last year. Both cities have been promoting mutual attraction of tourists and round trip tourism.

    The spring campaign is the second one following the winter campaign that was held until February 28th, and it is the first spring campaign. The "Hirohako Collaboration Promotion Executive Committee", which is a collaboration between Hirosaki City and Hakodate City, announced the main visual on March 7th.

    The main visuals announced are Hirosaki city motif and Hakodate city motif. A work by illustrator iXima, with a design that creates a single illustration when arranged side by side. Hirosaki Park and the castle tower of Hirosaki Castle, and Goryokaku Park and the Hakodate magistrate's office are depicted on the two sheets.

    A sub-visual is also available. For the Hirosaki City motif, Sakura Miku is drawn against the backdrop of the “Hongdae Cafe” (Bunkyo-cho) and the “Former Konya-cho Fire Station” (Konya-cho). The background of the Hakodate city motif is "Hakodate Park" and "Daisanzaka". As default characters, characters with the theme of "apple candy", "Tsugaru Shamisen", "Inocchi", "Jomon Hollow Dogu", "Seagull", and "Salt Ramen" are also available.

    Plans planned for the spring campaign include the production of a tourism campaign theme song and a welcome announcement by Sakura Miku. In addition to setting up AR shooting and photo spot panels using smartphones, a digital check-in rally will also be held.

    There are already voices of fans looking forward to the campaign on the Internet, with some praising the design of Hirosaki's cherry blossom hearts and the stars of Goryokaku, as well as the line-up of Hirosaki Castle and Goryokaku, both of which are famous for cherry blossom viewing. . There was also a voice saying that this year is the time to go to Hirosaki, which had been given up due to the corona virus.

    The campaign period is from April 20th to May 31st.
