The 10th Snow Woman Contest -Tsugaru Monogatari- was held on February 18th at the Aomori City Medieval House (Namioka, Aomori City) for the first time in three years.

Based on the story of Tsugaru's legend of yuki-onna "Shigama no Yomekko" (Shigama means icicle in Tsugaru dialect), perform a skit within a time limit of 5 minutes, and compete for the best yuki-onna. It consists of a children's section and an adult section, and prepares the best prize and the humor prize for each. This year, 11 groups of 46 people entered from inside and outside the city.

In the children's division, where three groups participated, there were stories that embarrassed the stepping as a lost kitten, not a lost kitten, and a dance performance that matched the song. In the general division, where 8 groups participated, 3 people who married into Tsugaru from Miyakojima, Ehime, and Kumamoto performed in the Tsugaru dialect, which they ``learned hard'', and a team of local bankers warned against special fraud. I saw a scene calling out. The contestants, who painted their faces white and turned into snow women, excited the venue with their free and humorous performances.

The Grand Prize went to "Little snow angel" in the children's category, representing children in grades 1 to 3 of elementary school playing energetically dressed as a snow woman, and in the adult category, "Matagi" and " It was given to Mr. Yuji Tanaka, who appeared in the male duo "Tomoji and Manabu" who sang "Azusa No. 2" and sang "Azusa No.

Reggae singer Sonia, who is from Namioka and lives in her hometown, appeared as a special guest, adding flowers to the contest by performing the Tsugaru dialect song "Silver Words" and songs related to the graduation season.

Hideki Fukushima, chairman of the contest's executive committee, said, "I was happy that we were able to hold this event thanks to the support of local residents, the opening of stores, and the cooperation of the judges. Next year, we want to raise the level even further." I smiled.
