    On February 19th, the "Jin Sled World Championship" will be held at the Nishiyama Park Ski Resort (Namioka, Aomori City) in Namioka, Aomori.

    This championship competes for skating time using a plastic rice bag as the "official sled."     It has been held every year since 2019 (Heisei 31), and this year will be the fourth time. The number of participants has increased year by year, but it will be held for the first time in two years because last year it was canceled due to the corona disaster.

    The competition will be divided into an "adult section" for junior high school students and above, and a "children's section" for elementary school students. The "adult division" slides down a 50-meter course, while the "children's division" slides down a 35-meter course. According to Mr. Odagiri, the best record so far is 7 seconds 12 and 25 kilometers per hour for adults, and 5 seconds 97 and 21 kilometers per hour for children.

    Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division.
