The Hirosaki Food Mirai Film Festival will be held on February 18th and 19th at Hirosaki Kyu Kaikosha (Miyukicho, Hirosaki City). Organized by Mirai Net Hirosaki.

This event screens documentary films on the theme of food over two days. Six films will be screened: "People Who Protect Food Safety," "Who Owns the Seeds," "Recovery Recipe," "Big Little Farm," "Itadakimasu," and "Itadakimasu 2." The themes include issues related to the Seed Act and Seed and Seedling Act, native breeds, and dietary education.

After the screening of each film, guest talks were held, and the participants learned natural farming methods from rice farmer and agricultural musician Takuron, former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Masahiko Yamada, and Akinori Kimura, known for the miracle apple. Hitoshi Tsuchimoto of SKOS (Shingo Village, Aomori Prefecture) will be on stage.

At the venue, 9 shops, including restaurants mainly in Hirosaki, will be open, selling local cuisine lunch boxes, vegan sweets, and Kyogi natto. Entry to the booth is free.

Aoi Shikauchi, a staff member of "Mirai Net Hirosaki", said, "There are a lot of social problems related to food. I hope that the movie will be an opportunity to think about the future of food, such as food safety and food banks."
