The Italian restaurant "Saizeriya" (Yoshikawa City, Saitama Prefecture) announced on February 1 that it will open a store in the shopping center "ELM" (Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture).

Saizeriya is a restaurant chain with 1,069 stores nationwide (as of August 2022), and will be the first to open in Aomori Prefecture. The first store opened in Akita Prefecture in December 2021 and Iwate Prefecture in June 2022, and the locals were eagerly waiting for the opening in Aomori Prefecture.

On the same day, Saizeriya announced on its official website that it would be opening its first store in Aomori Prefecture, and the information quickly spread on social media. There were voices such as "Saize in Aomori Prefecture ...!" Some responded that they were delighted to be able to use it.

In 2010 (Heisei 22), ELM invited the first Starbucks Coffee store in Aomori. Some people predicted that similar queues would form online.

ELM is currently preparing for renewal, and as the first step, "3COINS + plus" will be newly opened on March 18, and 4 stores will be relocated and renewed. Bakery shops "DONQ" and "miniminiOne" will open on April 28 as the second installment. The opening of "Saizeriya" is the third renewal, and it will operate in the section of the old food court that closed on January 29th. It is said that ELM will undergo a phased renewal within the year.

The Saizeriya ELM store will open on May 31, 2023.
