On January 7, 2023, a puppet show "Jomon Hakken! Theater" with the theme of "Jomon" and "World Heritage" will be held at the Jomon Jiyukan (Sannai Maruyama, Aomori City) in the Sannai Maruyama Ruins Center.

The sponsored "Aomori Children's Theater" (Hanazono, TEL 080-4519-0873 ) holds "regular meetings" for the children of its members to experience culture such as live theater, puppet shows, and music appreciation. We plan and operate places where you can experience nature such as mountain climbing. Regular meetings are held four times a year, inviting theater companies and musicians from all over the country.

The organization, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, planned this performance as a "special meeting" with the hope that "not only members but also the general public could enjoy the puppet show." If you apply, anyone can appreciate it, not just children.

The performance work is based on the Jomon ruins of Aomori "Sannai Maruyama ruins" (Sannai). A new original puppet show has been produced in collaboration with the Aomori-born, Kyoto-based puppet theater troupe “Puppet Theater Takutakudo” (led by Takuto Kudo).

Chizuko Shishikura, chairman of the steering committee, said, "This is the first time we've collaborated with a theater company. We're making preparations so that parents and children can enjoy Jomon. Miharu Matsuya, a member of the secretariat, said, "This puppet show was born when the Sannai-Maruyama ruins became a World Heritage site last year. Mr. Kudo of Takutakudo was born in Sannai. I feel a connection. Puppets for children. It's a play, but I want people of all ages to see it."

This performance will be the first public performance for both the story and the dolls that appear. According to Mr. Shishikura, the synopsis of the story is ``a story in which a dog and the main character ``Takkun'' dig soil and discover various ``treasures'' while having fun learning about the Jomon period and world heritage sites. After the performance, there will be a workshop where you can “create and enjoy” the dogs that appear in the play.

Mr. Shishikura said, "It's important to come into contact with culture when you're a sensitive child. I hope that the puppet show will become a place for parents and children to talk and interact with each other. I also want people to know about the Sannai-Maruyama ruins." smile.

Performances start at 10:30 and 13:30 (doors open 20 minutes before). Performance time is about 25 minutes. You need to apply for the same organization. We will close the reception as soon as it reaches the capacity. An admission fee for the Sannai-Maruyama Ruins/Jomon Jiyukan is required (general = 410 yen, high school and university students = 200 yen, junior high school students and younger are free).
