The Yokouchi Nebuta Festival was operated by the Yotsuishi Town Council from 2012 to 2016. was suspended. The Yokouchi District Community Development Council, which is organized by 10 neighborhood associations in the same district, launched a crowdfunding campaign to revitalize the town by reviving the local nebuta.

Koichiro Ono, vice chairman of the association, said, "The ultimate goal is to be able to continue the Nebuta festival every year and to propose a new way of Nebuta in the community."

On September 25th, the "Regional Nebuta" service was resumed for the first time in six years, and more than 200 residents and students from the area gathered at the starting point, Jofuku-in Temple (Kamei, Yokouchi, Aomori City). The nebuta that took the field was a small nebuta, and the theme was "Momotaro". Created by Seiya Ota, who made his debut as a Nebuta master.

The same Nebuta runs a 4-kilometer course within the town in two hours.
