Mina Perhonen is a brand founded by designer Akira Minagawa. In Finnish, it means "mina" and "perhonen". With the idea of "at least a 100-year-old brand", the concept is "special everyday clothes" that can be worn for many years without being influenced by trends. Starting with fashion, we continue to create products for life in general.

The exhibition consists of eight chapters named after nature and plants, such as "Wind," "Forest," and "Seed." In addition to fabrics, clothes, interiors, and tableware, original design drawings, videos, illustrations, and other works and materials are exhibited. Starting at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2019, it will travel nationwide to the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art in 2020 and the Fukuoka Art Museum from April to June 2022. will be the number of exhibits. The playground equipment “kivi” supervised by Mr. Minagawa is installed in the square in front of the entrance. The museum opens to the public for the first time.

Ms. Satomi Kudo of the museum's management department said, "We have been using minä perhonen dresses as uniforms for our staff for some time. In the early days, we used 'tambourine', which was a typical textile, and now we use 'choucho'. But the sight of the surveillance staff blending into the exhibition room is a highlight that is unique to this museum and different from the previous three.”

During the exhibition period, original goods limited to the museum will also be available. In connection with "Aomori is synonymous with apples", we produced a mini-sized apple box branded with mina perhonen design. Mr. Kudo said with a smile, “When I took Mr. Minagawa to a company that makes wooden apple boxes, he was very interested. show. It will be sold at a special shop.

According to Kudo, many of the visitors to the exhibition, which started on July 16, are from outside the prefecture. "Mr. Minagawa is one of Japan's world-class designers. It's a precious opportunity to see his work up close. It would be a waste if you didn't know about it, so I hope many people in the prefecture will visit." .
