Aomori's pottery class "Fujiwara Pottery" (Sannai Maruyama, Aomori City, TEL 017-782-4067 ) is bustling with elementary school students.

The same classroom has been in the workshop for about 30 years. The pottery class taught by Makoto Fujiwara accepts hands-on experience at any time, but in the summer, in response to requests from children who want to make works for summer vacation, we will start making unglazed pottery and glost pottery in time for the opening ceremony of the second semester. We are opening a classroom with an adjusted schedule.

Mr. Fujiwara says, "Most of the painting is done here, so it's hard to do a lot of work in a short period of time, but I'm happy to see the smiles of many children and their parents." It is said that 53 people experienced this season.

In a regular classroom, students do everything except the firing process, but in this classroom, the main experience is clay kneading and molding. It is said that everyone, from children to beginners, chooses soil that is easy to handle and that allows them to experience creating works in a casual and fun way.

A 6th grade boy, who participated in the workshop for the second year in a row, said, "I was happy to hear that my handling of the electric potter's wheel was better than last year. I also tried coloring for the first time this year. I said with a smile.

The experience fee is 3,500 yen (including the cost of clay and firing). There is a separate instruction fee of 1,800 yen for painting and coloring.
