Children's clothes "hand-me-down party" in Aomori A place for mothers to interact and relax
On August 17th, a "RingRing hand-me-down party" was held at Heiankaku Main Building in Aomori (2 Tsutsumi-cho, Aomori).
In 2020, the executive committee of the association started to solve the problem of "I want to deliver clothes and children's goods that can still be used to those who need them" and "I have a lot of things I need for a short period of time, so it's hard to have children". Held once a month in Aomori City. We have clothes, shoes, baby goods, school supplies, etc., and sell them at low prices.
Most of the clothes from baby size to 150 cm tall are sold for 100 yen for 2 pieces. Some of the items still have the price tag on them, and many customers come to look for bargains, or to look for slightly larger clothes called "future size." When the store opened at the Aomori Yasukata Minato Festival held on July 24th at Aoiumi Park (Yakata), it is said that people from the city, Hirosaki, Hachinohe, etc., came to see the event.
Yuko Tsushima, chairman of the executive committee, said, "We named it 'Ring Ring' because we want people who need what they need to go to the people who need it." “We bring in things we no longer use and buy what we need. I think we can create a cycle and contribute to the SDGs,” he says with a smile.
Many of the customers are repeaters, saying, "I started coming here half a year ago after a friend told me about it. I use it almost every month." I'm looking forward to coming because I can get it and listen to my worries about raising children."
On the day of the event, in addition to the members of the committee, staff from child-rearing groups active in the city and people with child-rearing experience helped out as volunteer staff. When a customer's child started crying, staff members were seen holding and comforting him.
"I'm in the middle of raising a child, too. I have a lot of things I need and a lot of worries," Tsushima said.
