“Taneyui Shokudo” (Matsumori-cho, Hirosaki City, TEL 090-6687-2121 ) opened on December 21st.

This restaurant is based on the concept of "athletes, food, and the community." The owner, Yui Tanezawa, offers a menu for athletes that utilizes the knowledge she has learned for her daughter. The name of the restaurant comes from Mr. Tanezawa's nickname.

According to Mr. Tanezawa, his daughter, who started running marathons in the first grade of elementary school, sometimes became ill as she grew up, and there were days when she could not run. “For athletes, diet affects not only nutrition but also physical condition. It was a good experience for my daughter to have a positive outlook through diet,” says Tanezawa.

Preparations for opening the store began a year ago, and the tenant was selected because of its location near the beauty salon "Kotalina" (Omachi) where her husband works. Mr. Tanezawa, who works as an esthetic therapist, continues to work as an esthetic therapist every Monday even after opening "Taneyui Shokudo".

The store area is 14 tsubo, and the number of seats is 20. The 2nd floor has a small rise, and there is also a space for small children. The interior of the store is based on the image of a building in the Mediterranean Sea with a blue door and white walls, and the exterior walls are also painted white. Since "the same meal can change your mood", he is particular about tableware and uses one-of-a-kind items by artists from all over the country.

The menu includes the “Athlete Set Meal” (1,300 yen), which changes weekly, and the “Taneyui Set Meal” (1,000 yen), which features fried chicken as the main dish. The wrapped fried chicken uses rice flour and rice oil, and Mr. Tanezawa says, "Fried chicken with less oiliness." Wrapped fried chicken is also available for takeout (7 pieces = 750 yen). Soft drinks (200 yen each) and alcohol are also available.

Mr. Tanezawa said, "The Aomori National Athletic Meet will be held in 2026. I think there will be more support for athletes and athletes. We will work with people who support athletes to create a store that can liven up local sports. I want to," he said with enthusiasm. "It's a meal for athletes, but I want to increase the opportunities to eat it on a regular basis," he said.

Business hours are from 11:30 to 17:00. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
