    Nishimeya Village in Aomori Prefecture is currently recruiting supporters for a project to restore and improve the walking trails that were destroyed by the heavy rain disaster in August.

    Nishimeya Village is the least populated village in Aomori Prefecture and has the Shirakami Mountains, which was registered as a World Natural Heritage site in 1993. Torrential rain damage occurred in the facilities around the Shirakami-Sanchi Anmon and the entire promenade. Since next year, 2023, will mark the 30th anniversary of its registration as a World Heritage Site, early restoration is necessary.

    For supporters, donations are solicited through government crowdfunding using the hometown tax system. We will also prepare a return gift.

    Currently, more than 280 people have donated about 4.4 million yen to the target amount of 10 million yen. Mr. Takayuki Miura, the person in charge of the Nishimeya Village Industry Division, said, "The damage is unprecedented, and it is difficult to completely restore it with our village's budget. We ask for your cooperation in the restoration."
