Aomori's outdoor shop "DIRECTION" (Aomori City Tonya-cho) released "Lantern Globe" in collaboration with Tsugaru Vidro on August 3rd.

The lantern globe is the glass part that covers the flame of the lantern. The event was planned by an outdoor goods select shop that opened on April 29 along Kanko-dori. The owner, Akito Sasaki, selects and sells gear that he likes and camping equipment that can be used at home.

Mr. Sasaki was originally from Hiranai and worked as a firefighter, but he liked the outdoors and decided to open his own store. It is said that he started the store to convey the charm of camping, which has various ways to enjoy from solo to family.

The development of original goods was also one of my dreams. When I was wondering if I could use local handicrafts to make camping equipment, I asked if Tsugaru Vidro, which I had been using at the table for a long time, could be used.

Tsugaru Vidro is a traditional handicraft designated by Aomori Prefecture. It features a vivid color expression called cullet (colored glass). “I used Tsugaru Vidro products at camp,” says Sasaki.

The finished lantern globe was said to be satisfactory from the beginning. "I tested the temperature difference, and there were no problems at all," said Sasaki with a smile.

Only sold at stores, 5 pieces each day from August 3rd to 6th. It does not support reservations or mail order. Mr. Sasaki said, “We have already received inquiries from outside the prefecture, and we feel that we are getting results. Since it was our first collaborative product project, we started with a small number of products, but we would like to work on increasing production and selling colors that match the season.” show willingness

    The price is 9,900 yen.
