On October 15th, a photo exhibition "Ruscus Flower" will be held at "Gallery Mannaka" (Yoshinocho, Hirosaki City) in the premises of Chuo Hirosaki Station.

This exhibition presents landscape photographs of Hirosaki taken on film. This is a solo exhibition by Azusa Miyamoto, a photographer who moved to Hirosaki from Tokyo in mid-September this year. The exhibition will coincide with the self-published photo book of the same name on September 20th.

Miyamoto was born in Machida, Tokyo, and his mother is from Hirosaki. When he was a child, he and his mother went back to Hirosaki, but when he turned 20, he began to go to Hirosaki on his own will. "I came to visit in all four seasons, avoiding the Neputa and Sakura Festival tourist seasons. I stayed for about a week, taking pictures and taking walks. It was very comfortable," says Miyamoto.

In 2020, her grandmother, who lived in Hirosaki, passed away, and her mother had fewer opportunities to come to Hirosaki. I decided to emigrate when I held a solo exhibition last year. When I saw Mt. Iwaki changing colors day by day, I decided to move here because there are some things I cannot feel unless I live there. "I don't have a car, but Hirosaki is a comfortable place to live," said Miyamoto with a smile.

The photos on display were taken about 10 years ago, when she started coming to Hirosaki, and she developed them herself. Three photo books will be exhibited at the venue to introduce the photos taken. “Some of the scenery is gone, and I forgot where it was taken,” says Miyamoto. “I will be in the gallery during the exhibition period, so please feel free to stop by.”

The event is held from 10:00 to 17:00. free entrance. Until October 23rd.
