A month has passed since the Rainbow Cafe opened in Hirosaki's Niji no Mart (Ekimae-cho, Hirosaki City).

The cafe was launched by Moe Koyama, who is from Hirosaki and made a U-turn in November 2020. The first shop of "challenge opening" that "Niji no Mart" was looking for. With a plan to support the challenges of young people, rent and initial costs will be reduced.

Koyama graduated from junior high school and moved to Tokyo to study design. “I also wanted to leave Hirosaki as soon as possible,” says Koyama. After graduating from university, he got a job at a design company, but due to the spread of the coronavirus, he began to feel a gap between what he wanted to do and left the company. I went home for a while. "At first, I was planning to go to Tokyo again," Koyama said.

When I returned to Hirosaki, I met Takuya Nakano who runs the beer and T-shirt shop "Ripen" (Kajicho). We hit it off with each other and decided to open a cafe. I applied for Niji no Mart's "Challenge Store Opening" and managed to open it. The name of the store, Rainbow Cafe, which was decided in 10 seconds, is because it is a cafe of Niji no Mart. “The logo was written by each person who helped us in Hirosaki,” said Mr. Koyama.

The menu includes today's coffee (420 yen) using original blended coffee beans, today's cafe au lait (470 yen), hand drip coffee (550 yen), matcha latte, apple soy milk latte (all above 400 yen), etc. . Coffee beans are procured from Leipn. In the future, we will think about light meals that go well with coffee.

Koyama says, "After returning, I realized that there are many people in Hirosaki who are engaged in a variety of activities. Next, I would like to teach them places to take on challenges and make Hirosaki more interesting." Mr. Koyama, who looks back on the first month since opening, said with a smile, "I had experience in the customer service industry, but the sense of distance at Niji no Mart is unique, and the customer service is like family. I was confused at first, but now I'm used to it and feel comfortable." show.

Business hours are from 8:00 to 18:00. Closed on Sundays.
