The "Shunsuke Kikuchi Lobby Exhibition" is currently being held at the Tou Shinkin Bank head office (Dotemachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-34-8400 ).

Shunsuke Kikuchi is a composer from Hirosaki. He passed away in April 2021, and his grave is in Seiganji Temple (Shinmachi).

In the "Shunsuke Kikuchi Lobby Exhibition", 33 items will be exhibited, including the piano that Kikuchi used during his lifetime, the award-winning gold disc, and the handwritten score of "Doraemon no Uta." Ken Sasaki of the Hirosaki Legend Storytelling Association, which organizes the event, said, "There are about 200 items that were inherited from the bereaved family, and only a portion of them could be exhibited this time."

According to Mr. Sasaki, the exchange with Mr. Kikuchi began in 1999 (Heisei 11). It is said that he was invited as a person from Hirosaki who is active in Tokyo. “He had a good personality and was never arrogant,” said Mr. Sasaki. After Kikuchi's death, his bereaved family asked him to hand over his belongings, and he accepted the offer.

Sasaki said, ``Among the belongings, there are photographs of his childhood in Hirosaki, as well as those of his former teacher and composition instructor at Hirosaki University, Ah Hoon, which tells us that Kikuchi's origins were in Hirosaki. I want many people to know that the composers of world-famous works are from Hirosaki."

The event is held from 9:00 to 15:00. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Free admission. The exhibition will be on display until the end of December.
