    Hirosaki University's student group "Hirosaki University Coffee Study Group" and Narita Senzo coffee shop "Hongdae Cafe" jointly developed drip bag coffee "Campus 2022" on August 8th.

    This drip bag coffee is packaged with the appearance of Hongdae Cafe under the concept of "Taste of Youth". Mr. Senzo Narita, the owner of "Hongdae Cafe", developed it by incorporating opinions on taste and design from students of the Hirosaki University coffee research group.

    In 2016, Mr. Narita opened the “Hongdae Cafe” in the old-system Hirosaki High School Foreign Teachers Building, a nationally registered tangible cultural property located on the premises of Hirosaki University. He was holding coffee classes for students, but he was thinking about an initiative that he could do together with students through coffee.

    The study group was established in 2017 and currently has about 60 members. The main activity is to compare coffee drinks, but the development of drip bag coffee started because there was an activity goal of "I want to make coffee that we want to drink".

    “The taste matches the concept and emphasizes the sourness of youth,” says Narita. Reflecting the students' opinions by having them check the roasted coffee beans and selecting from multiple package designs. The name of the year is added to the product name so that from next year onwards, students will be able to give their opinions on flavor and design, and that year's drip bag coffee will be made.

    "I want many people to taste it," said Kodai Takahashi, chairman of the research group. Mr. Narita says with a smile, "I have created a coffee that reminds me of my youth."

    The price is 1 box (7 packs) = 1,500 yen, 1 pack = 250 yen. Sales locations are Hongdae Cafe and Narita Senzo Coffee Shop Joto Store (Jotohoku).
