"Charcoal-grilled eel dish Yonekichi" (Noda, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-88-7787 ) opened on April 12 along Kita Odori.

An eel specialty store started by "Kakucho", which manages caterers and wedding halls "Fortuna" and "Ragley". It was newly built in the parking lot of the reception hall "Ragley". The store name "Yonekichi" comes from Yonekichi Koyamauchi, the founder of "Kakucho" in 1889 (Meiji 22).

According to Masaaki Sato, the head chef of Kakucho, the background of the opening is the demonstration sale of eels that was held every year in front of the Ragley store on "Day of the Ox". "The demonstration sales of eels, which have been going on for about 40 years since I joined the company, were well received by Corona, so I started as a new business," says Mr. Sato.

The store area is 40 tsubo and the number of seats is 30. In addition to table seats, there are counter seats, and private rooms with a maximum of 12 seats will be prepared. You can observe the charcoal-burning of eels from inside the store. We are particular about domestic eels, and depending on the season, we handle natural eels.

The menu is "Unaju" (3,850 yen), half-size "Mego" (1,980 yen), kabayaki, and white grilled (3,520 yen). It also supports takeout. Course dishes such as "Unaju Course" (7,150 yen) and "Mego Course" (5,500 yen) such as 6 appetizers and Tsugaru chawanmushi are also available. There is also a domestic beef tenderloin steak (150 grams = 4,620 yen) for people who are not good at eels.

Mr. Sato said, "Weddings and receptions are still in a difficult situation, but I tried to manage a restaurant for the first time as a Kakucho. I want to take root in Hirosaki as an eel specialty store."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00.
