An exhibition and sales event of indigo dyeing and plant dyeing "The Power of Plants" is currently being held at "Hirosaki Orlando Gallery Space" (Hyakkokumachi, Hirosaki City).

The exhibition will be held by a couple, Ryosuke Sasaki and Yuki Kasai, who emigrated from Hateruma Island in Okinawa to Hirosaki in 2015. This is the first solo exhibition of "Snow hand made", which the two of them preside over, and will exhibit plant-themed works and sell stalls and accessories.

"Snow hand made" mainly dyes threads and fabrics using home-grown indigo and safflower as dyes, and plant dyed threads are produced and sold by fusing with natural stones and beads using weaving and knitting techniques. .. It is said that it will be produced by the division of labor between husband and wife.

Mr. Sasaki says, "I've been thinking about solo exhibitions for a long time. I inspired a work called" The Power of Plants "and made it over a year. I'm exhibiting works with plant motifs throughout the venue."

In addition to the works, there will be an exhibition of videos and dyes that summarize the dyeing and weaving process. Two people will be in the hall during the session. "There are many people who are interested in dyeing and weaving, and when we actually talk about it, we sometimes sympathize with it," says Sasaki. "The main sales form is to exhibit at events, and nowadays it's difficult to hold events, so I'm happy to have the opportunity to meet and talk. I hope you can see the work and pick up the product and check it."

free entrance. Until April 13th. Admission time is from 11:00 to 18:00.
