The final screening of the "37th Hirosaki Castle Miss Sakura Contest" was held on April 3rd at the Iwaki Cultural Center "Asoberu" (Yoshita, Hirosaki City).

This contest selects "women who match the image of the cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Castle" that promotes Hirosaki City inside and outside Aomori Prefecture. From the 13 people who passed the document screening, 1 Miss Sakura Grand Prix and 2 Miss Sakura will be decided. Eleven were college students this year.

Miki Takahashi, a third-year student at Hirosaki University, won the Miss Sakura Grand Prix. He is enrolled in the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and is conducting research on product development such as sake rice. "I applied because my sister recommended me, so I want to tell my sister the victory more than anyone else," says Takahashi. I promoted my hobby of visiting cafes.

Mako Tamura and Moeri Matsuda were selected as Miss Sakura. Mr. Tamura is a third year student at Hirosaki University from Akita. Belongs to the broadcasting circle. He was worried about applying last year and regretted not having tried it. Mr. Tamura says, "There is an impression in Hirosaki Park that is different from the cherry blossoms you see locally. I want to know more about the charm of Hirosaki through the activities of Miss Sakura."

Mr. Matsuda is from Too Gijuku High School and is currently a 4th year student at Hirosaki University. Since he belonged to the track and field club during gymnastics and high school, he says he wants to use his body to promote Hirosaki. Mr. Matsuda says, "I like to run, so I want to run around Hirosaki to make videos, and even when movement is restricted due to corona, I want to use the internet to convey the appeal."

Mr. Takahashi smiles, "I still can't believe the Grand Prix and I feel fluffy. I want to carry on the thoughts of everyone who participated and do my best together."
