The Western-style izakaya "Alporto" (Dotemachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-34-8051) moved to the side of the Nakasan Hirosaki store on December 1, and resumed operations for the first time in two years.

The store was open until January 2020 at the Shimo Dotemachi scramble intersection. It offered Western food and wine, mainly Spanish food, but closed in October 2019 because the owner and chef Tetsuro Shibata was found ill and needed to be hospitalized for a long time.

Mr. Shibata went to Tokyo after graduating from high school to study photography, but he became obsessed with the restaurant business he started as a part-time job and left the path of photography. After returning to Hirosaki, he worked at a restaurant and became independent at the age of 25. "Alporto" has opened in Kakumi-koji, and this is the fourth time it has moved.

Cooking is self-taught. I went to Spain four times and learned the taste while eating and walking around. Mr. Shibata recalls, "I chose a store that only local residents can go to, not a store that has become a tourist attraction." "The first time I went to Spain was memorable. When the dictator Francisco Franco died, I wasn't afraid to ask the soldiers who pointed their guns at the city while the city was tingling. "Smiles.

The new store is a warehouse used by a drug store as a warehouse, and its age is unknown. The store area is 21 tsubo and the number of seats is 28. "Since the pillar says Taisho 10 (= 1921), it may be over 100 years old," says Shibata. The interior of the store, which is based on white, has been renovated so that the beams and foundation can be seen. A part of the table and chairs used in the previous store was reused, and the cowhide tapestry with a map drawn on the surface that Mr. Shibata bought in Spain was put up again.

The menu includes paella (3,100 yen, half = 1,600 yen), rustic pate (780 yen), steamed mussels with wine (950 yen), and today's salad (750 yen). For alcohol, we will prepare a menu such as cocktails (600 yen for each type), glass wine (550 yen), bourbon, scotch, cider (600 yen or more). There is also a wine list.

Lunch resumption is being adjusted. He says he has a two-year blank and is not used to building a store yet. Currently, Mr. Shibata is 69 years old. Some people were worried about the resumption of business, but Mr. Shibata said, "When I was discharged from the hospital and started to recover, I was reluctant to retire." "I aim to be active all my life. I want to fall down in the kitchen at the end," he said.

Business hours are from 18:00 to 22:00. Closed on Wednesdays.
