    On November 10th, a "food support project" was held by 15 local municipalities at Hirosaki University.

    This project is a project in which 15 municipalities in Aomori Prefecture, which have a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Hirosaki University, use local products to support students with food. Hirosaki University planned to support students who are in financial difficulty due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

    There are two types of support methods. Offering packages with local products and serving dishes using local ingredients at the student cafeteria. The packages were prepared in 9 municipalities, Aomori City, Nishimeya Village, Fujisaki Town, Mutsu City, Hirakawa City, Itayanagi Town, Yomogita Village, Higashidori Village, and Sannohe Town, and 200 boxes will be provided free of charge for a total of 1800 people.

    Ajigasawa Town, Hirosaki City, Fukaura Town, Takko Town, Nambu Town, Yomogita Village, and Hashikami Town offer local products using the student cafeteria. Continuing from last year, Fukaura Town offered "Snow Carrot Smoothie" for free, Ajigasawa Town offered "Flounder Pickled Rice Bowl", and Yomogita Village offered "Tomatsu Tare Don" at a low price.

    On November 10th, Hirosaki City offered 22 apple pies in the city for free. On this day, 1000 apple pies from 9 stores were prepared and distributed from 11:30. It is said that it disappeared around 14:00. In addition to Hirosaki University, Hirosaki City distributes apple pies to 11 universities and vocational schools in the city.

    Takumi Okabe, a third-year student in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, said, "I was happy that the one I chose from multiple apple pies was delicious. Now I want to go to a store and buy an apple pie."

    At the coffee shop "Rabbit Creek" (Nakano, Hirosaki City) in the Nishihiro area, you are allowed to bring in apple pies distributed exclusively to students. If you order one drink, serve apple pie on a plate and serve ice cream. The shop owner smiles, "I usually don't allow bringing in, but I planned to make the students feel better."

    The package will be available until November 16th, and the package will be available at the student cafeteria of Hirosaki University until November 12th.
