"FESTINA LENTE" in Jimbocho, Tokyo will open on November 1st in the former Stozen Building on Kuroishi Komise Street.

The store handles about 500 items of American vintage clothing and antique miscellaneous goods. The actual store in Jimbocho closed in December 2019, and last year, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, only event stores and online sales were open. It's been about two years since the reopening at the actual store.

The owner, Kei Ueoku, is from Saitama and works at second-hand clothing stores and recycle shops. He married Mr. Shiki from Hirosaki and moved to Hirosaki when he gave birth. "I was planning to reopen the store in Hirosaki, but I hadn't reopened it for a while due to the corona sickness," explains his wife.

The old Stozen Building, which opened, was a building in the 1965's, the first floor was a store selling household goods, and the second floor was a living space. The store closed in 2015 (Heisei 27), and since 2019 (Heisei 31), the NPO Yokomachi Jumonji Machisodatekai has been using it as a coworking space using an area of about 90 tsubo.

Mrs. Kami's wife said, "At first, I was thinking about selling miscellaneous goods in a part of the coworking space, but when I learned that about half of the warehouse was not used, I consulted about opening a store and the story went on. I look back. "I like the exposed steel frame on the ceiling," he said.

Bring in the tools used in Tokyo and start preparations in August. Currently, his wife is working on shooting and displaying products in the store. Although it is in a pre-opening state, if the shutter of the warehouse is open, you can enter the store, and local residents can stop and stop by. Some people liked the product and bought it on the spot.

After November 1st, the official opening date, we plan to open while watching the infection status of Corona, and for the time being, advance reservations are required. Reservations have already been accepted and can be booked via email or Instagram's message feature. Mr. Kamizuma said, "I'm sorry for the lack of preparation, and it's a time when I can't say that it's open grandly. I want to try to create a store that suits the atmosphere of Nakamachi Komise Street, where the arcade from the feudal era remains." ..

Business hours are from 11:00 to 19:00.
