"Wolt Japan" (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) is currently preparing a food delivery service "Wolt" in Hirosaki City.

This service is a mechanism for ordering meal deliveries using a dedicated app. A Finnish company launched its service in 2014 and currently operates in more than 23 countries. In Japan, the service began in Hiroshima in March 2020, and in Aomori Prefecture, the service has been provided in Aomori and Hachinohe since June 18.

It features a light blue uniform with a logo printed on it and a delivery bag, and the bag has a uniform number to prepare for quick information gathering in an emergency. The restaurant receives the order from the terminal on which the dedicated application is installed and ships it. The only cost required is the purchase of the device, and there is currently a 3-month trial period that you can try for free.

The delivery fee is 99 yen within 1.5 km, 199 yen within 2.5 km, and 299 yen within 4 km from the restaurant. A small delivery fee will be charged for orders less than 1,000 yen. The restaurant pays Wolt a monthly food delivery fee of 30% on sales.

Hirosaki is currently recruiting registered restaurants with the goal of starting service provision in mid-August.
