The horse racing bar "K BAR" (TEL 090-7932-0991 ) in Kajimachi, a downtown area of Hirosaki, celebrated its 10th anniversary on May 24th.

The store was opened by bartender Koji Uehara with the concept of "a store where you can find your favorite things," such as baseball and professional wrestling, with a focus on horse racing. Mr. Uehara is a sweet tooth who can't drink alcohol, and in recent years he has worked on parfaits and fruit sandwiches, and is popular with female customers.

Mr. Uehara is from Tsuruta. After graduating from university, he got a job at Hirosaki City Hotel (currently Art Hotel Hirosaki City) and was in charge of serving restaurants, but he started to focus on cocktails when he was transferred to a bartender. “By serving sake over the bar counter, not only can you immediately understand the reaction of customers, but you can also communicate directly. I found something more rewarding than ever before,” says Uehara.

Although I worked outside Aomori prefecture, I decided to become independent in March 2011. It was just before the Great East Japan Earthquake. I was worried because I was already preparing to open the store, but soon after the disaster, I became independent at a bar with a size of 6 tsubo. Mr. Uehara says, "Thanks to you, we were able to open a store with the support of our customers."

At first, Mr. Uehara had a scary impression of Ujimachi, but when he started business, he recalled that all of them were kind. From around 2015 (Heisei 27), we started to provide parfaits, succeeded in attracting female customers, and opened stores at events. Customers who stopped by for purposes other than Mr. Uehara's hobbies began to appear, and the number of items donated by regular customers increased in the store.

The effects of the new coronavirus, which has spread since last year, are unexpected, and according to Mr. Uehara, there are no more people in Uji-cho than ever before. While the self-restraint mood is prolonged, sales are also sluggish. Mr. Uehara anticipates take-out demand and develops a portable fruit sandwich. Recently, it has begun to offer the traditional Italian and Roman bread confectionery "Maritozzo", and is further focusing on the development of new products.

The number of purchasers who support the "drink tickets" that were offered to regular customers as "tickets that can be paid in advance" has begun to increase. Some customers buy from Tokyo. Mr. Uehara said, "The ticket itself is 3,000 yen. Some people buy a lot if they want to drink it after corona. Thank you for your encouragement."

Mr. Uehara said, "I want you to become a society where you can feel secure as soon as you can't see the future of the new coronavirus." Show.

Business hours are from 20:00 to 2:00 the next day.
