Hirosaki's hula dance class "Hula studio moani" (Dotemachi, Hirosaki City) opened "Lomi Lomi Salon" on April 13th, which offers Hawaiian massage exclusively for women.

The hula dance class opened in 2018 (Heisei 30). A Hawaiian-style relaxation massage called "Lomi Lomi" will be offered as a new service. "Romi" is a Hawaiian word meaning to go around. Unlike massage such as pushing and tapping, oil is applied to soft parts such as the inside of the arm and the side of the hand, and the treatment is performed by stroking the skin.

Nozomi Tanaka, the president, saw hula dance for the first time in her homestay in Hawaii when she was in the second year of junior high school, and recalled, "The authentic dance was so cool that it overturned the image of hula dance so far, and I was shocked." Mr. Tanaka was attracted not only by hula dance but also by the charm of Hawaii itself, and he often visited Hawaii.

The reason why I started "Lomi Lomi Salon" was that many students said that it was difficult to get rid of stiff shoulders and tiredness. “I started learning for my students, but it was more popular than I expected, and I decided to start it as a service,” says Tanaka. When the service was started on a trial basis in March, a woman who experienced "Lomi Lomi" in her honeymoon destination, Hawaii, sometimes visited "Lomi Lomi can be done in Hirosaki."

There are two types of menus, Pikake (50 minutes course) = 5,000 yen, Lehua (70 minutes course) = 6,500 yen (advance reservation required online). “The macadamia nut oil used in the procedure easily penetrates the skin and does not need to be washed away,” says Tanaka.

Mr. Tanaka says, "Hula has the image of being started by older women, but I want young women to know more, and it is good for healing and maintaining good health. It would be an opportunity to learn about the charm of Hawaii." ..

Business hours are from 9:30 to 15:00. Closed on Fridays.
