The "Reiwa 2nd Coming-of-Age Ceremony" was held on March 21st at the Aomori Prefecture Martial Arts Hall (Toyoda, Hirosaki City).

The coming-of-age ceremony hosted by Hirosaki City was held every year at the Hirosaki Civic Hall (Shimoshiroganecho), but this year the venue was changed to avoid the spread of the new coronavirus from the perspective of preventing the spread of the new coronavirus. Initially, it was planned to be held in three locations in January, as usual, using hotels in the city, but it was postponed in March in consideration of the occurrence of clusters in the Hirosaki area.

The number of new adults this year was from April 2, 2000 (Heisei 12) to April 1, 2001 (Heisei 13), and there were 847 men and 808 women, for a total of 1655 people. A total of 872 people attended.

At the venue, when entering the venue, the temperature was thoroughly measured and disinfected, and the contact information was filled in. In addition, all the visitors, including the staff, wore masks, which was unprecedented. The ceremony began with a ceremony by former Mayor Hiroshi Sakurada, and the Hirosaki Citizens' Charter was thoroughly read to prevent infectious diseases.

Hirosaki University's Ichiboshi Kimura and Hinako Fukudate took the stage in the oath by the new adult representative. He thanked the event at Corona, delighted with the reunion of his friends, and expressed his aspirations to contribute to the community with the determination to be an adult.

Makoto Kubota, a new adult, smiles, saying, "There is no drinking party in Corona, so I will go home after this, but when Corona ends someday, I would like to look back on this coming-of-age ceremony while drinking alcohol with everyone."

In the Tsugaru area, in addition to Hirosaki City, Kuroishi City will hold a coming-of-age ceremony on the same day. Hirakawa City, Goshogawara City, Itayanagi Town, and Ajigasawa Town have been postponed to August, while Tsugaru City, Fujisaki Town, Tsuruta Town, Owani Town, and Fukaura Town have announced their cancellation.
