    On March 6th, at the Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store (Hirosaki-shi station square) underground passage York Gallery, the "Sakurafu Calligraphy Class Exhibition", known as the "Too Free Calligraphy Exhibition", began with a novel theme.

    This exhibition will be held by "Sakurafu Calligraphy Class" (Fujisaki Town), which is represented by Mr. Sakurafu Miura of the Sakurafu Branch of the Japan Educational Calligraphy Association. Children's works with themes such as "Sake brand", "Samurai sword", and "Fist of the North Star's special move" are attracting attention every year on the Internet as "too free".

    This year's theme is "Kimetsu no Yaiba," "Relieved God," "Favorite Cup Ramen," "Country Name of Obfuscated Kanji," "Doraemon's Tools," "Animal That Can't Help It," "Urban Legend," and "Cloud." "10th year of the earthquake". More than 300 works by 15 students attending the classroom will be exhibited.

    "Kimetsu no Yaiba" wrote the names of the characters. Mr. Miura read through the entire volume for the exhibition, decided the theme mainly for the leading characters, and initially distributed it to the students. “Kanji was difficult because of the sample, and many kanji were written for the first time,” says Miura. When I asked a student who had a hard time deciding on a theme, he said that the name of the enemy character was also mentioned.

    Mr. Miura said, "When one of the students named the enemy character, I also changed it to the name of the enemy character. It seems that the enemy character is catching the hearts of the children like the main characters." speak. "It's a work that conveys the charm and characteristics of the character," he says with confidence.

    The theme is said to be "too free", but Miura says that every year he chooses a combination of kanji, katakana, and hiragana so that he can improve his calligraphy. This year, many students were taking exams, and attendance was poor, so it took until the day before the event. "There are many dark topics about the new coronavirus, but I hope the students' works will make you feel a little cheerful," he smiles.
