    "Food & Craft Festival Shirakami Peaks", a real event on January 10th and 11th at "Roadside Station Tsugaru Shirakami Beach Nishimeya" (Nishimeya Village, Aomori Prefecture) with the theme of nature and food culture in the Shirakami Mountains Will be held.

    The facility was renewed in April 2019 as a roadside station equipped with a coffee bean roasting factory and a seedle workshop. At the event, you can experience roasting, compare coffee made with water from the Shirakami Mountains, sell sweets, cider wine, bear leather products, and experience activities such as snow rafting and snow tube riding outdoors.

    In conjunction with the event, "Kogin-zashi Thermo Tumbler" will be released on January 10th. Designed by Mr. Iemasa Yamabata, who presides over "kogin.net" that sends Tsugaru Kogin-zashi to the world. The traditional pattern "Kizuna" is the main motif, and the accent is the image of "Shirakami Mountains apples". Limited to stations on the same road, it will be sold at the Montbell corner inside the facility. The price is 1,650 yen.

    The organizer is the Roadside Station Tsugaru Shirakami Revitalization Council. An event will be held in Nishimeya Village with the theme of nature and food culture in the Shirakami Mountains through the Japan Tourism Agency's "Creation of attractive content for diversifying tourists" demonstration project.

    Mr. Narita Senzo of the council said, "By reviving the culture that has been passed down from ancient times to the present day, a new food culture was born. Nishimeya Village, where old and new things coexist, is only the nature of the Shirakami Mountains. There are still many attractions, "he said.

    The venue will be divided into two to avoid crowding, and visitors will be allowed to enter after measuring the temperature, checking their physical condition, disinfecting their hands, and restricting admission when it is crowded. It is said that it will work to prevent infection with the new coronavirus of the Japan Tourism Agency and respond to new lifestyles in with corona.

    The holding time is from 10:00 to 15:00 on both days.
