The cafe "ska vi fika?" (Shimizu, Hirosaki City, TEL 050-5436-0855 ) near Hirosaki Minami High School will celebrate its 2nd anniversary on October 1st.

The store name "ska vi fika?" Means "Do you want tea?" In Swedish. The movie "Kamome Diner", which was opened by the owner Yuki Shimoyama, was set in Finland, and it is derived from the fact that he became longing for Scandinavia.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Shimoyama worked as an office worker in Hirosaki for more than 20 years, but he began to think about independence, saying, "I want to start my second life a little earlier than starting my second life after retirement." It is said that. Mr. Shimoyama, who wanted to open a cafe, learned how to make cakes and curry from restaurants, and learned coffee knowledge and drip techniques at "Narita Exclusive Coffee Shop (Jotokita)".

Initially, he was looking for a tenant who could see "Kongozan Saishoin" (Doyamachi), which has a five-storied pagoda, but the conditions were not met and it became the current location. “Finally, we made it a place where you can see Mt. Iwaki from inside the store,” says Shimoyama. He revealed that he liked the fact that the base of the log house-like building was raised so that Mt. Iwaki could be seen easily.

The store area is 23 tsubo. There are 11 seats. Mr. Shimoyama smiles, "I want you to spend your time in the store, so the distance between customers is wide. It was a social distance from the beginning." There is a space that is not used as a store, and he is considering a salon where massages are performed.

For coffee, we offer "blend" and "hot" (450 yen or more) using pesticide-free and organically grown coffee beans. Black tea (500 yen for each type), herbal tea (600 yen), homemade lemonade (450 yen), etc. are also available. The menu includes "Yakuzen Curry with plenty of onions" (1,000 yen) using 30 kinds of miscellaneous grains, and "Tofu cake (baked cheesecake style, gateau chocolate)" (400 yen) that does not use eggs, sugar, milk, butter, or flour. Prepare (yen) and soy milk pudding (250 yen).

At the cafe, a talk event "tera (temple) cafe" with monks as guests was held once every three months. Mr. Shimoyama, who likes temples and shrines and has a hobby of collecting red stamps, deals with the project. “There are voices saying that the temple has a high threshold and it is difficult to go to it, so at this event you can listen to the story of the priest without being stiff,” says Shimoyama. Currently, there are no plans to hold it due to the influence of the new coronavirus, but when it is held, it will be announced on Instagram.

At the beginning of the store, the stores that enter the same tenant do not last long, so there were rumors among the local residents that they would quit soon. Mr. Shimoyama said, "I feel that my neighbors have come to attend and I have finally been recognized. It was a tough day for two years, but it is more fulfilling than when I was an office worker. I'm doing it. I want to continue for another 10 years. "

To commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the cafe, deodorants using recycled coffee beans will be distributed free of charge from October 1st.

Business hours are from 11:00 to 17:00. Closed on Fridays.
