    Hirosaki citizen group "A-project" will hold "Online! Course that makes you want to eat apples" from August 22nd.

    The group started its activities in 2017 to create an opportunity for Hirosaki citizens to learn about apples. In the past, we held a talk show with Shiho Tanimura, the author of “Kiki Apple Travel” and Chieko Yamamoto, the editor of business books from Hirosaki, and held an apple dyeing project by Apple Kobo and Yoshiko Sato. ..

    Mr. Fujiko Aoyama, the representative of the group, said, "It's obvious that I get apples in Hirosaki and eat them, but I started thinking that I should know more about apples."

    This year, it will be held 4 times online. The first lecture on August 22nd will be given by Associate Professor Hayato Maeda of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hirosaki University on the theme of "Does eating apples really make you healthy?" From the second session on and after September 10, he will learn the characteristics of apple varieties from Mr. Asako Akada of the Aomori Sangyo Hirosaki Institute of Technology, and make a lecture that makes you want to eat apples.

    Mr. Aoyama said, "From Mr. Akada, we divided into early, middle, and late varieties, and each four varieties of apples were sent to the participants to give them a taste while giving a lecture. We will proceed. If it becomes a place to eat rare varieties that have never been eaten," he said.

    In addition to the lecture, the Facebook page will also provide information on how to identify apples, how to cut apples, and jam recipes by apple farmers, jam manufacturing workshops, and food improvement promoters.
