The "U-Mart Hongdae store" (Tomita, Hirosaki City) near Hirosaki University will close on June 30.

The property was taken over from the closed "Maruesu Shufu no Ito", and the universe (Hachinohe City) opened as "U-mart" in August 2008. When we announced the closure of the store on May 29, graduates of Hirosaki University who live outside the prefecture regretted it.

Since the store was open until 24:00 at a supermarket near Hirosaki University, it was used not only by Hirosaki university students but also by the local residents. As for the reason for closing the store, a universe official said, "We decided to close the store because the buildings and equipment are so old that the site area is too small to rebuild in the same place and there is no affordable property nearby."

There was "Yakiniku Momo Hirosaki store" on the second floor of the building, but it closed on May 10. The all-you-can-eat menu and other items are available at a price range that is easy to use, and there were many users at launches and social gatherings. Many residents of Hirosaki University also used it, and many residents said that it would be inconvenient to live due to successive closures.

A woman in her 60s living nearby said, “I've been using it a lot since the Marues era, and I still use it 3 or 4 times a week. Instead, I want to open something new.” A female college student at Hirosaki University who is living alone, says, "It was convenient because it can be used after school, but when it disappears, the supermarket will be far away and it is inconvenient."

A woman in her 20s, who has been working part-time for two years since her first year at university and now lives in Sapporo, recalls, "I still remember the fact that the part-timers who worked with me at the shop where I worked for the first time were kind to me for almost 10 years now." A woman in her 20s who is a graduate of Hirosaki University and lives outside the prefecture said, "The first time I went to see the cherry blossoms and had a drink at a friend's house was to buy it at U-Mart. It's sad to lose some of my memories."
