On April 4th, "Hauoli CAFE" opened in Hirosaki's agricultural direct sales shop "ANEKKO" (Miyaji Kawazoe, Hirosaki City).

A takeaway specialty store with a Hawaiian theme. The owner, Shingo Sano, is from Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. His wife, Risa, who took office in the Soma area of Hirosaki city as a member of the regional cooperation team, made a U-turn in Hirosaki last year, and Sano also moved to Hirosaki in November.

Mr. Sano said he loved surfing and started going to Hawaii from his teens. “I was interested in the beautiful scenery of Hawaiian people, stars and the sea, food, and culture, so I decided to start my own Hawaiian-style pension,” says Sano. In 1996, when I was 29 years old, I started "American House Angel Kiss" (Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture) in Izukogen.

"Angel Kiss" has continued for more than 20 years, but it closed in October last year. Since Risa makes a U-turn, Sano decided to move to a restaurant in Hirosaki. “I used to come to Hirosaki because I was my wife's hometown, but I didn't have a network. I started by actually living and adapting to the area,” says Sano.

The turning point was because the community revitalization team in the Iwaki area of the city asked if anyone would use the space of "Anekokko". “I didn't expect it to open so quickly. It was because of the support of many people, including those involved in my wife's activities and the president of Anecco,” says Sano.

The menu includes garlic shrimp (500 yen), Hawaiian spare ribs (300 yen), and weekend-limited "Igamenchi burger" (400 yen). Drink menus such as Hawaiian flavored coffee (¥200), tapioca drinks, cheese foam drinks (¥400 or more) will be prepared. Soft cream menus such as Takemi software will be available soon.

In the future, he wants to develop a Hawaiian menu that makes use of locally produced ingredients. “I want to use apples and other ingredients that are common in Hirosaki, such as apple burgers. First of all, I would like you to have a Hawaiian menu even with a bite and convey the charm of Hawaii from that,” says Mr.

He also has experience working as a professional bartender and talent, and has one side that he belongs to an event planning company.

Business hours are from 11:00 to 18:00 (Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10:00). Closed on Wednesdays. From 11:00 to 17:00 until May 6th.
