"Hoshino Resorts Kai Tsugaru" (Owani-cho, Aomori Prefecture) extended the sales of "Special plan for those living in Aomori and Akita Prefectures" on March 18.

"Kai" is one of the hot spring inn brands that Hoshino Resorts (Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture) has 15 facilities nationwide, and "Tsugaru" is the only facility in Tohoku. The service is called "Gaku", where you can enjoy the traditional arts and crafts of each region, and "local rooms" where you can feel the culture of the region.

The building was renewed in April last year, and all 41 rooms have been changed to "Tsugaru Koginma", a local room that incorporates shoji and hanging scrolls designed in a contemporary design with Tsugaru kogin stab patterns. In addition to playing the Tsugaru shamisen every night, we will prepare an original paper "bookmark making" where you can experience "Tsugaru kogin sashimi" free of charge for 24 hours. Named “Uruhashi Hyundai Toji,” the guide “Kai no Yumori” will lecture as a “hot spring Iroha” about the model schedule of stay and how to enjoy hot springs.

“It is rare for us to offer limited plans for local people under this brand,” said Kumiko Tachikawa, general manager. Since it started as a winter-only plan, it will be offered at a price that is 30 to 40% less than normal accommodation expenses. It is said that some of the customers, who used to be the repeater of the former ryokan "Nantsugaru Kinsui", became repeat customers.

It was planned to be provided until April 17 this season, but it was extended until the end of May. The aim is to alleviate the stress of the elderly and children who have been unable to go out due to self-restraint as well as cancellations from overseas customers one after another due to the spread of new coronavirus infection.

Mr. Tachikawa said, "If you can take a rest in a space different from everyday life, you can disinfect the building regularly and you can also provide meals in a semi-private room. It is close to you by car and you can visit from the day or the day before. Reservations can be made depending on the day, so feel free to use it."

For reservations, apply at the QR code on the leaflet or at the KAI Reservation Center (TEL 0570-073-011). At check-in, the customer's current address will be confirmed with at least one ID card. Accommodation rates start from 13,440 yen (1 room for 5 people with 2 meals per night). Adult rate = 70% for 7-11 years old, 50% for 4-6 years old, free for children under 3 years old.
