Sewing Lab "acot" (Shinagawa Town, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-88-5568) opened in Hirosaki on March 1st.

In addition to selling fabrics, threads, and sewing goods, the store also has a lab space for handicraft classes and tailoring. Saori Kushibiki, the owner of the store, said, “I want you to bring clothes that will allow you to have a suggestion and attachment for one-mile wear in which the fabric is the main character.”

“I first sewed when I was in the 4th grade of elementary school. It was because I asked for a sewing machine and made my own bag,” says Kushibiki. After graduating from Hirosaki Jitsugyo High School Fashion Design Department, he went to the Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo with the goal of working in the sewing industry, but made a U-turn because he was not accustomed to the competitive environment. In 2017, he launched the handmade twin children's clothing brand "inorino", and is conducting activities such as holding workshops.

In May of last year, I decided to open a store. To convey the country of origin of the fabric, the manufacturing process, and the appropriate care method, it is necessary to create a place where you can get attached to clothes and a place where you can learn sewing technology and knowledge. Because I felt. Mr. Kushibiki smiles, "There were several candidate sites for the opening of the store, but I felt like the property was born in Tora, the same as I was,".

The logo is drawn with a tiger, and the store name comes from the acronym "a cup of tea," which means "good activity or hobby" in the UK. The store area is about 6 tsubo. The store has an image of a "baked confectionery store," with a showcase for confectionery and tongs and trays for selecting products. “My favorite is the door chime. I want you to ring it when you enter the store,” says Kushibiki.

As for products, about 50 kinds of fabrics are sold from 1 meter = 600 yen (110 cm in length), and we also support made-to-order orders. In addition to selling Abril yarn (440 yen to 550 yen) made from natural materials and materials such as bamboo and Japanese paper, the “Kurukuru Sewing Set” (1,430 yen) for easy sewing and the “Drawing Thread Project Bag” We also offer original goods such as "(small type = 550 yen, medium type = 880 yen), handkerchief for children "with crepe handkerchief" (660 yen).

There is a kids' space for children to play in, and building toys such as "dou?" made from "hiragana biscuits" and "carry me" are available. It plans to handle herbal teas and sundries, and to increase the number of ready-made products in the future.

Mr. Kushibiki said, "Soon after it opened, the customers who stopped by were often able to repair the buttons. There was a place where people could do "darning" such as mending, so that not only women but men could feel sewing at their hands. I want to make it a store that makes me want to start."

Business hours are from 12:00 to 18:00. Closed on Mondays and public holidays.
