Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store (Hirosaki-shi station square) underground passage "Yokozai calligraphy classroom work exhibition" starts on March 3 at York Gallery.

The event is sponsored by Sakurafu Miu, a member of the Sakurafuu branch of the Japan Educational Calligraphy Association, in a Sakurafu calligraphy class (Fujisaki Town, Aomori Prefecture). Twenty students in the same classroom, from elementary school first grader to high school second grader, will exhibit about 300 works along a moving walkway that is about 40 meters long that connects the Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store and the multi-storey parking lot.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of this exhibition, and the theme of exhibitions such as "brands of sake" and "muscle names" has been called "too free" every year on the Internet. In 2017 (Heisei 29), we exhibited the theme of the deathblow technique that appeared in the manga “Fist of the North Star”, and Tetsuo Hara of the drawing contacted me and got a lot of attention introduced in the official blog. ..

This year's themes include "Funny Japanese history", "Yuru-chara", "Unidentified creatures of the world (UMA)", "Shochu", "Favorite bread", "Really scary plants", "Tea types", and "Snow types". “Every year, the theme is trial and error. There are lots of dead stories,” says Miura.

Ai Murakami, a second-year middle-school student, started writing at the age of five and participated in the calligraphy exhibition every year. In the past, he wrote "Hokuto Hyakken" and became a catalyst for attracting attention. Looking back on 10 years, Mr. Murakami says, "I had a lot to learn through calligraphy. I want to continue in high school."

Mr. Miura calls, "We are exhibiting works with a unique theme, but there are many winning works such as the Prefectural Governor's Award and the Newspaper Publisher Award, so I hope you can enjoy and see the children's confident works."

Holding time is from 9:00 to 21:00. free entrance. Until March 29th of this month.
