A pipe organ concert for the general public will be held on November 22 at the chapel of Tooku Gijuku High School (Ishikawa, Hirosaki City).

This is the 6th event this year, which is held once a year, so that the locals can hear the pipe organ. The pipe organ was installed in the school in 1990 when the school building moved from Shimohiragincho to Ishikawa. It was commissioned by Karl Schuke (Germany), who works on pipe organs such as the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, and the Aichi Prefectural Theater Theater Concert Hall, and three German engineers took several months to make it all by hand.

The pipe organ is played by Junko Mizuki, an organist who belongs to the school. Born in Hirosaki city, I was impressed by the pipe organ I heard when I was 10 years old, and chose the path of an organist. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, he left Japan to study at the French National Boulogne School of Music, etc., and was assigned to the school in 2007. “I'm really happy to be able to play this kind of authentic German pipe organ every day,” says Mizuki. Students gather at the chapel every morning and worship with the accompaniment of Mizuki's pipe organ.

The sound that echoes from the 1632 pipes to the chapel attracts many participants every year. This program will be played mainly for Bach's music for about 1 hour. "Bach, who was an organist, has many pipe organ songs," says Mizuki. The entire building of the pipe organ is an instrument. Please visit the chapel and enjoy the power of the pipe organ. ”

The start time is from 14:00. Doors open at 13:00. free entrance.
