Marionet, a specialty store that sells snowboards in Owani Town, Aomori Prefecture (TEL 0172-47-8831 in Owani Town, Minamitsugaru-gun, TEL 0172-47-8831), accepts custom-made orders for the world's first snowboarding snowboard.

The product takes at least 2 to 3 months from receiving an order to manufacturing and shipping. Since each one is handmade, mass production is not possible. "The skill of a Tsugaru painter with a history of 300 years and the manufacturing technology of a ski maker with a history of 100 years. A status item that can be obtained by combining these two," says Owanimachi who planned and devised the service. Tsunazo Yagihashi, Managing Director, "Wani Come", Regional Exchange Center.

Mr. Yagihashi was born in Hirakawa city (former Hiraga town) in Aomori prefecture and is now 65 years old. He started skiing at the age of 3 and moved to snowboarding about 30 years ago. Since then, he has contributed to Japan's snowboarding world in terms of event management and dissemination activities. He also serves as an expert member of the Snowboard Division of the All Japan Ski Association.

I came up with the idea of snowboarding Tsugaru Nuri from a casual conversation with my friend Tsugaru Nuri craftsman Jiro Tateyama. “When I heard Tateyama-kun's words that I would like to try something new with Tsugaru-nuri, I inspired the snowboard of Tsugaru-nuri,” says Yagihashi. However, the problem with snowboards is that they are not suitable for lacquer ware, because the boards are pressed and twisted and bent.

Therefore, Mr. Yagihashi consulted with the ski / snowboard manufacturer Ogasaka Ski Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture) he had a relationship with to see if he could make a feasible core (base board). The factory also showed interest, and after three seasons including the development of the prototype, the build-to-order manufacturing system was set up in December 2008.

“We are mainly targeting seniors in their 50s and older. A generation that can find the value of Tsugaru-nuri,” says Yagihashi. Since then, they have received orders from all over the country every season. Some sports stores in Tokyo are also displayed for display.

Currently, there are three types of red, black, and green Tsugaru coats called "Kara-nuri". Since there are four Tsugaru-nuri techniques, we are considering using other techniques in the future.

The price is 210,000 yen (excluding tax).
