The 8th volume of the cartoon "Flying Witch" (Kodansha) set in Aomori and Hirosaki will be released on August 9.

Makoto Kobata, a 15-year-old witch practicing a witch, depicts the everyday life she spends with her relatives. Bi-monthly serialization began in September 2012 in "Separate Volume Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) and animated in 2016 (Heisei 28). The original author is Chihiro Ishizuka, a manga artist living in Hirosaki.

The feature of this work is that Hirosaki appears in the play, and among the fans, sightseeing is done for the purpose of identifying the location and "pilgrimage to the sacred place", and there are many fans outside the prefecture who attend Hirosaki. In Volume 8, when Mr. Ishizuka announced the cover illustration on his Twitter on July 20, the place where the drawing was based was already identified among the fans.

In this work, a special edition version with a drama CD will be sold. According to Ishizuka, with the idea of Utana Aoi, who played the voice role of Akane Kohata in the anime version, the staff members reassembled to realize the world of animation. Mr. Ishizuka was in charge of the CD package and board illustrations. Playback time is about 27 minutes.

Mr. Ishizuka said, "This time, I'm jumping out of Hirosaki and drawing various places such as the suburbs and outside the prefecture. It has a different atmosphere than before. There is also the first drama CD, more people are involved than ever. It's a very important book, and a part of the sales will be donated to Kyoto Animation."

The price is 450 yen for the regular version and 1,800 yen for the special edition.
