On March 8th, "Aomori's Beautiful Village Photo Exhibition" will be held at Hirosaki Museum of Art "Narumi Kayo Memorial Tohbokan" (Kada Oura, Hirosaki, TEL 0172-82-2902).

This exhibition displays photographs of Hirosaki City's Iwaki district (formerly Iwaki Town), Sai Village and Tago Town, which are members of the "Most Beautiful Village in Japan". It was planned by the cooperation team and the OBs who are involved in the active areas assigned to each municipality. Mr. Yoshifumi Kamada, who is active as a member of the Iwaki area's regional cooperation team, recalls, "I went to the site of Sai-mura and found out that a traveling exhibition of a photo contest was being held in Hirosaki, and I proposed a collaboration project." ..

"The most beautiful village in Japan" is a regional alliance that began in 2005 with seven towns and villages. The objective is to protect the scenery and culture of Japanese agricultural, mountain and fishing villages while aiming to become the most beautiful village. As of March 1, 2019, 63 towns and villages have joined the region, and there are 3 regions in Aomori Prefecture. Examination is conducted every 5 years.

53 photos are on display. The winning works of the photo contest held in each municipality will be exhibited. "It's just works that you can't think of as taken by amateur photographers," says Kamada. In the Iwaki area, the works of the Iwakiyama Photo Contest sponsored by the Iwakiyama Tourism Association are the main focus, and at the Saimura booth, we will also vote on the popularity of the "Sunset Photo and Contest" that is currently being held.

Mr. Kamata calls, "Iwaki district is a photograph that shows the characteristics of each region such as Mt. Iwaki, Sai village is the sunset, and Tago town is garlic. I want you to see the beautiful scenery of Aomori."

Holding time is from 9:00 to 16:00. Until March 14th (12th is closed). From March 20th to April 3rd, it will be exhibited in front of the elevator on the 3rd floor of Hiroro.
