On January 24, the snow statue that was being made at the barber shop "Ken no Tokoya" (Kansawa, Hirosaki City) near Hirokoshita Station on the Konan Railway was completed.

A snow statue of the barber shop that makes popular characters and mini kamakura using the gutter beside the parking lot in front of the store. Kenichi Yokozawa, the owner of the shop, started trying to please people who passed by, and the local residents said, “I'm looking forward to it every year” and “What will I make this year?” because of the reputation for the quality of the details.

This year's theme is "Godzilla". According to Mr. Yokozawa, Godzilla is a snow statue that he had always wanted to make, and he smiled, "I had to declare that I made Godzilla when I was interviewed by the local media last year," he said with a smile. ..

The height of the snow statue is 3.8 meters. “We were aiming for 4 meters, but it became warm in mid-December, so it melted and became smaller,” says Yokozawa. The dorsal fins are made one by one from the neck, and the fangs are shaped by gradually pouring water on the hardened snow. For the first time, Yokozawa's work used color spray to add red to the mouth and dorsal fin. On the same day, I finally put my eyes on it and completed it.

Mr. Yokosawa said, "This year the weather is bad for making snow statues, with snowfall and warmth. It's nice to see people taking photos with their smartphones before they're completed." .. "The snow statue itself has been completed, but Godzilla emits light rays from its mouth and the back glows in the new work. There is no choice but to do it."

Currently, in addition to Godzilla, two snow statues are being produced on the site. “I'm making what the children asked me to do, but I'm wondering how to make a face. I'm looking forward to the completion,” he says with a smile.
