On November 1st, a restaurant "Pomuri" (Genji-cho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-55-7248) opened near Hirosaki Park.

The restaurant mainly offers French cuisine mainly using Aomori ingredients and natural wine. Mr. Kota Imai from Hirakawa conceived from 6 years ago that he wanted to provide something that he or she liked, or something unique, and went open.

After graduating from Hirosaki's high school, Mr. Imai moved to Tokyo and entered a cooking school. “I've always liked eating and was interested in cooking,” he says. After working in a French restaurant and a wine bar for 17 years in Tokyo, he returned home in March 2017. Initially, I was thinking of opening a store in Tokyo, but I thought, “Because I am from Aomori, I have a route that I can do, so I decided to open a store in Hirosaki.”

The store area is about 10 tsubo and the number of seats is 10. Not only table height and chairs, but also tableware, knives, forks, and almost everything else in the store. "I was buying tableware, etc. of my favorite artist for the opening of the store some day. I asked the shop where I bought the wine and had it fall asleep," Imai said.

The lunch menu (1,200 JPY and up) includes 4 types of appetizers, main dishes include meat, fish and pasta, as well as homemade bread, cakes and coffee. Dinner is 4,000 yen course only. We offer à la carte menu from 20:30. "The menu varies depending on the seasonal ingredients and season," he said.

Five to seven types of wine are also offered in glasses (600 yen and up). All the wines provided are the ones Imai himself drank, and he is particular about "Vin Nature" (natural wine) from France. Mr. Imai says, “I often worked at a French restaurant and had a lot of chances to come into contact with wine. I was particular about Van Nature because I was fit and didn't stay the next day after drinking.”

“I would like to suggest different ways of eating ingredients from the prefecture and give people outside the prefecture an opportunity to learn about Aomori's ingredients,” says Imai. "It's a small restaurant, so if you use it, you can make a reservation in advance and it will be helpful," he said.

Business hours are from 11:30 to 14:00, 17:30 to 21:30 (last order). Closed on Wednesdays.
